The Rhino Bird team created a large-scale art mural. The overall design of the artwork resembles the undulating flow of a wave on a lake or a dragon swimming within it.
The entire installation uses a transition between metal scales and white translucent scales, gradually evolving into a translucent material on the left side where there is a pedestrian walkway, to ensure sufficient indoor lighting. The digital transition between metal and acrylic materials achieved a collision of the two materials, creating a new transitional effect. Unlike traditional art murals with scales, this artwork has an overall curved wall shape. The wall surface itself has significant undulations like waves, and the opening and closing angles of the surface dragon scales also vary with the waves. The biggest challenge in creating this artwork was managing the three different curve variations. When combining the changes of three different surfaces, it is necessary to consider them together while ensuring structural and functional integrity, as well as achieving aesthetic patterns. The changes in the surfaces should complement the opening and closing of the scales, rather than constrain or conflict with each other. The entire design went through two months of back-and-forth adjustments before presenting a satisfactory aesthetic style. Walking down the hallway, it feels like the entire wall is flowing along with people's gaze. From a distance, it creates a beautiful picture.
